NHIW (Non Hazardous Industrial Waste) : waste resulting from an industrial or commercial activity but assimilable to the household re-use .i.e. without toxic character (cardboard, wood, various packing,...)
HIW (Hazardous Industrial Waste) : toxic waste dangerous for men and environment and requiring particular precautions during its treatment. This waste was called before industrial special waste.
Valorization : general term covering the re-employment, the re-use, the recycling, or the regeneration of waste.
Energy valorization : calories recovery contained in incinerated waste allowing the thermal or electric energy production.
Matter valorization : mode of waste processing allowing their re-employment, re-use or recycling.
Treatment : reduction, under controlled conditions of the initial potential polluting waste and/or waste flows to be put in discharge.
